Packing in the challenges

Packing in the challenges

Bikepacking is one of the fastest growing areas of interest within the cycling community, and why wouldn't it be? The appeal is multi faceted; whether it's attempting a mega-challenge such as LEJOG - Land's End to John O'Groats - or a simply enjoying a spontaneous overnight wild-camping trip, nothing compares to setting out on two wheels, bags packed with luggage and head filled with anticipation.

As cyclists, we all know that enjoying life at a slower pace is rewarding in a way that seeing the scenery fly by at 60 mph can never be. Opportunities to explore present themselves at every turn, and being on a bike can mean finding bye-ways and trails that are inaccessible by car, but maybe too far flung for walking. You really do have access the best of all worlds.

We even have our own bike-packing enthusiast in-house here at WildSide in the shape of bikefitter Matt, and you can read about his latest long-distance exploits on his personal blog page here:

And if reading it inspires you to follow in his tracks feel free to drop by the shop to quiz him on what you need to get started on your next great cycling adventure. Whether it's advice on the best way to kit out an existing bike, or guidance on what new machine to buy, we're always happy to help and have the knowledge and experience to set you rolling down the right path.
